Maserati MC-63 Is a Stunning Design Proposal for a LaFerrari Sibling

Here’s hoping someone at Maserati’s HQ in Modena will see these renderings

Remember the Ferrari Enzo-based Maserati MC12 hypercar? It was the Enzo's alter ego built in 2004-2005 by Maserati to get homologation for a racing variant in the FIA GT Series.

Years have passed, and Ferrari has replaced the Enzo with the LaFerrari, while Maserati has nothing to follow in the footsteps of the MC12.

That doesn't mean people don't fantasize about a successor to the Maserati MC12. Italian designer Andrea Ortile is one of them, and his proposal for a LaFerrari-based Maserati left us totally speechless.

Called the MC-63, the hypothetical Maserati hypercar takes inspiration from a famous Maserati race car, the 1961 Tipo 63 of the Birdcage series. A two-seat, mid-engined coupé, the Maserati MC-63 design concept sports elegant, flowing lines, with the curved roof linking the front to the rear and dominating the rounded wheel arches.

Andrea Ortile says there is a strong stylistic contrast between the two halves of the car: the upper half is inspired by classic cars with pure volumes, while the lower half sports sharp carbon fiber elements that emphasize the sportiness of the car.

Just sit back for a moment and imagine this car were real and parked next to the LaFerrari. Which one would you choose?
