Shares powertrain/drivetrain with the Mercedes-AMG A 35
So, the idea of a Merc-AMG A 35 in either sedan or hatchback guise doesn’t really click with you? Then Fret not, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 is here – and what only really differs is the packaging.
The entry-level AMG-ized CLA can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds thanks to an in-line four, 2-liter engine that also makes 400 Nm of twist.
All this grunt is handled by the seven-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox and the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive setup.
Just like the A 35 AMG, the CLA 35 gets 350-mm brake discs up front and 330-mm discs at the rear.
On the inside, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 sports the same dashboard layout as the A 35. Also present is the AMG steering wheel and twin-screen MBUX infotainment setup with Supersport graphics.
You’ll be able to see it make a debut at the New York Auto Show on April 16, with sales kicking off later the same month.
