Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster Carries a €129,180 Starting Price

That’s the cheapest entry ticket to the world of drop-top AMG GTs

Mercedes-AMG has announced pricing information for the latest three members of the AMG GT family.

Available to order now, the AMG GT and GT C Roadsters, as well as the AMG GT R Coupe will arrive on the market in spring 2017.

As you can imagine, getting one of these beauties is not cheap. The AMG GT Roadster starts from €129,180.45 in Germany (including 19 percent VAT), while the more potent AMG GT C Roadster comes at a significant premium — it starts at €160,650.

Finally, the range-topping Mercedes-AMG GT R coupe is the most expensive of the lineup, carrying a €165,410 price tag.

The AMG GT R brings motor racing technology to the road, with unique features including an extensively modified suspension, extreme aerodynamics, and lightweight construction. The 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine gets the highest amount of power in the GT R — 585 PS (577 hp).

The AMG GT C Roadster is a new model that slots between the GT S and GT R. It borrows some of the technical solutions from the R, including the active rear axle steering and the electronically controlled rear axle limited-slip differential. The GT R's influence is seen in the GT C Roadster's design as well, with elements like the Panamericana Grille and the broader tail end being the most obvious. For now, the GT C is only offered as a drop-top with 557 PS (549 hp).

As for the base AMG GT Roadster, it gets a de-tuned version of the same engine, rated at 476 PS (469 hp).
