Mini Turns On the John Cooper Works Racing Swagger

The bulldog goes to the races

John Cooper Works' new accessory line can take your run-of-the-mill Mini back the brand's racing days, but it's all about appearance.

Haven't decided whether it's time or not to upgrade to a full-fledged Mini JCW? Do not fret, because the range called Original Accessories by John Cooper Works can provide a taste of the grapes.

Let's detail. Mini has a few surprises in store for the Cooper S Convertible, Cooper S three-door and five-door. One of them is a JCW tuning kit which hikes power output from 141 kW (192 hp) to 155 kW (211 hp).

Better management of the extra horsepower falls on the shoulders of a JCW brake setup, with four-piston calipers coated in Chili Red and drilled discs up front.

Are looks important to you? Then have a look at the 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, also stamped with the John Cooper Works logo.

Furthermore, the list of accessories mentions black band spoilers and an aero pack which includes the usual stickers. For the cockpit, the JCW recipe brings leather/chrome-finished gearshift lever knob and a leather sports steering wheel.
