Visually, it will be a toned down version of the XR-PHEV concept
Mitsubishi will has chosen the Geneva motor show to reveal a new rakish, sporty crossover to sit alongside the popular (but aging) ASX, also known as the Outlander Sport in North America, but not replace it. It features contemporary, aggressive lines and styling, and it looks about the same size as the ASX.
While we do know what it’s going to look like (kind of, thanks to the teaser posted by the automaker), we don’t have details about powertrains or even the name this new model will bear; it has been speculated it could be called Eclipse.
It draws its styling inspiration from XR-PHEV concept from 2013, so expect this new production model to be a kind of toned down version of that. The study featured a hybrid powertrain which combined a turbocharged 1.1-liter engine with an electric motor.
