Mulliner Turns Bentley Bentayga into the Ultimate Fly Fishing Vehicle

There’s a catch, though: the fishing kit alone costs $100,000

The first word that comes to my mind when the Bentley Bentayga is mentioned in a conversation is excess.

After all, this is the world’s fastest and (arguably) the most luxurious SUV on sale today. Not to mention that it has a ridiculous list of optional extras that includes a Mulliner Tourbillon by Breitling mechanical clock said to cost £150,000 (about $198,000).

Well, get prepared for another Mulliner extravaganza, as Bentley’s bespoke coach building division has announced a new outrageously expensive accessory for the Bentayga — a fly fishing kit rumored to cost $100,000!

Hand-crafted in wood and leather, the Bentayga Fly Fishing by Mulliner turns the massive SUV into (probably) the most expensive fishing vehicle ever made. The kit comes with four rods stored in special tubes trimmed in Saddle leather with Linen cross-stitching and placed on the underside of the parcel shelf.

Then there’s a pair of landing nets in matching leather bags, stored in a bespoke, hard pocked built into the side of the boot and trimmed in carpet. The fishing set also has a master tackle station, a refreshment case, and a waterproof wader-stowage trunk — all trimmed in Saddle leather.

The master tackle station is filled with fishing goodies including a fly-tying vice and tools, as well as cotton, hooks and feathers. The good news is all three units can be removed from the trunk when the owner needs maximum luggage space.

And, after the fishing trip is over, the Bentayga will not wear any scars thanks to the waterproof boot-floor, rear-sill-protection covers, and an electronic dehumidifier unit.

Why would anyone want to use a vehicle that costs more than $230,000 (before the fishing kit is added) to go catching fish is another question, though.
