New Land Rover Defender will appeal to a new generation of buyers

We’re yet to find out which one exactly

2016 saw the Land Rover Defender going out of production, but the British off-roader is not yet completely out of the picture. In fact, recent info suggests a new, more inviting generation might be just around the corner.

Speaking of which, Gerry McGovern, Land Rover design boss had a chat with Autonews and revealed a couple of interesting notions about the upcoming Defender.

Several British media outlets – such as AutoExpress – have previously suggested that the new Defender will arrive in 2018. Although he didn't confirm nor deny this, Mr. McGovern pointed out that "the anticipation is incredible."

Moreover, once the new-gen LR Defender starts populating dealerships, it will attempt to "win new buyers" and to pull that off, the brand will target a "wider" and "new generation" of customers.

Since LR's design chief didn't mention any age intervals, we're hoping that the new Defender's price will reflect the target audience's spending power, if by new generation Mr. McGovern means young buyers.
