Old Fast and Furious liveries look so on point on today’s cars

This one’s for the nostalgics

The year was 2001 when Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) took undercover cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) under his wing in The Fast and The Furious movie.

But little did they know about the series' success and the fact that we're now preparing for the premiere of Fast 8.

However, hardcore fans will still remember the crazy liveries featured in the first installment of the Fast & Furious series.

This is when Javier Oquendo Design's work comes into play. The artist took the old liveries and applied them on some of today's cars and concepts with the help of pixel manipulation.

First up is the paintwork on O'Conner's 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, which has been re-rendered to fit the bulky proportions of the 2017 Mitsubishi Eclipse SUV.

Furthermore, Dom's 1993 Mazda RX-7 FD donates its livery to the Mazda RX-Vision concept, while Jesse's 1995 VW Jetta body paint finds reinterpretation in the 2017 VW Jetta.

And we're just warming up. Brian's 1994 Toyota Supra Mk IV passes its visual legacy to the stunning Toyota FT-1 concept while Leon's 1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 inspires the current 2017 GT-R.

Oh, and Dom's Charger (the one he was afraid of at the beginning of the movie) also gets a modern interpretation of what could easily scare the horsepower out of a Demon.
