One-off Ford F-22 F-150 Raptor fetches $300,000 at auction

That’s a lot of money to pay on an F-150, but it all went to a good cause

Remember the one-of-a-kind Ford F-22 F-150 Raptor we previewed last month?

Well, it raised $300,000 at the AirVenture Oshkosh auction on July 27 to benefit the Experimental Aircraft Association Gathering of Eagles, an organization committed to encouraging youth involvement in flight.

The F-22 F-150 Raptor was bought by Gary Ackerman of Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada. It couldn't have hoped for a better home, as Mr. Ackerman serves as Honorary Commander/Ambassador for the United States Airforce's F-22 Squadron at the Nellis Airforce Base in Nevada.

Inspired by the U.S. Air Force's Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet, the unique F-150 Raptor features an array of modifications that change both the way it looks and the way it goes.

The 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine is pushed to 545 hp and 660 lb-ft (894 Nm) of torque thanks to a Whipple supercharger. The truck also features a series of off-road upgrades including a Modified Addictive Desert Design front suspension and bump stop kit, Deaver rear spring pack, Fox bypass series shocks with adjustable compression and rebound valving, and Innov8 Racing custom forged bead lock wheels with Falcon Wildpeak tires.

Stopping power is ensured by upgraded Alcon six-piston painted calipers, oversized rotors, and high-friction pads, while a modular off-road 1.3-million candela LED lighting system by KC Hilites turns the night into day.

The F-22 F-150 Raptor is loaded with other stuff as well: a 1,500-watt Kicker audio system, Amp Research power retracting steps, DeBerti two-tire, gas and ProEagle jack holder, stainless-steel cat-back Borla exhaust system with carbon fiber tips, and more.

Styling-wise, it flaunts a unique Sherwin-Williams exterior paint hand-cut and polished to a mirror finish, DeBerti carbon fiber fender flares, hood, and fender vents, as well as many F-22 Raptor jet cues both inside and out.

Is the F-150 Raptor too conservative for you? Then maybe Zarooq Motors' SandRacer 500 GT is your cup of tea.
