Porsche 911 GT1 successor looks worthy of Stuttgart’s drawing board

Dear Porsche, please hire the guy who made this

Unlike Audi, Porsche's Le Mans involvement is alive and kicking, and although Toyota will be more motivated than ever to beat them this year, let's take a crystal globe ride to 2020.

Judging by ambitious plans and strategies, 2020 should be the year when autonomous driving and electric cars become the norm.

While we take that with a pinch of salt, let's sweeten the pot with this Porsche 911 GT1 proposal autoevolution stumbled upon.

Hold your horses though, as it's only a rendering. However, its appeal hides in the fact it tries to forecast a fictive racing-inspired successor for the current Porsche 918 Sypder. For that, and all the champagne should go to Jan Peisert over at Peisert Design, who also brought us the stunning LaFerrari-based Maserati MC12 and the Mercedes-AMG Project One design studies.

Those who prefer Porsche and motorsports served at breakfast next to their peanut butter jar will definitely see where the inspiration stems from. For those who don't, here's a hint: check out the real Porsche 911 GT1, the Porsche 919 hybrid Le Mans racecar and the Mission E concept.

Now, back to drooling over this future Porsche 911 GT1.
