Let’s just dream without hoping, it’s better for all of us
When we’ve shown you this design exercise for the first time, we expressed our amazement and, at the same time, some frustration.
We whined regarding the impossibility of seeing the 908-04 featured in Gran Turismo — or in any other game, for that matter. However, since then things have changed. Porsche is agent-free now, so we’re going to see (and drive) its loved sports cars in every important video game.
Which is even more impressing is Porsche following up on that sketch, contacting its creators, and starting a collaboration with them.
The result is called 908-04 RSR (you know, just like any other competition Porsche) and it looks amazing. Oh, and it’s not only a drawing board product but a fully-detailed 3D model.
You’ll have to check the photo gallery above to see for yourself just how keen these guys were in keeping the rendering’s accuracy in this transition from 2D to 3D.
We don’t know what will happen next, but we’d really like to be able to see in video games. The prospects of watching it blast in the Le Mans 24h is gone with Porsche’s decision of stepping down from WEC.
