Porsche proves that Panamera Turbo can be a terrifying car sharing proposition

All you need is a wacky driver, and a test track along the route

What would you say if the car you've agreed upon for a shared trip is replaced by a new-generation Porsche Panamera Turbo? Well, it can't be that bad, can it?

The Turbo boasts 550 horsepower, a top speed of 190 mph, and a 3.8-second 0-to-62 mph launch. But, as a passenger in a car sharing experience, all you'd care about — and be delighted by — is the sheer luxury with which the Panamera four-seater promises. Because, you know, who'd go full berserk on all those power resources just because they're there, right?

Well, Romain Dumas would. In the latest public stunt for Porsche, Romain — World Endurance Championship winner in 2016 — plays a driver in a car sharing program. He arrives with the Panamera — motivating that he swapped cars meanwhile — and take the unwitting passengers for the trip of their life.

Just to make sure everyone (regardless their age, or, as the clip shows, their heart condition) gets a full sample of Panamera at full throttle, he detours to a testing track, where things would go fast enough to require helmets, and probably blood pressure inhibitors.

We're not sure every single passenger enjoyed their ride, but we're convinced that no one would forget it. If you want to find out more about the all-new Porsche Panamera, we invite you into our Test Drive section.
