Porsche spied testing spiced up 718 GTS

The name has yet to be confirmed, but it’s probably accurate

Porsche is set to launch higher performance variants of its 718 models (we drove the Cayman S model and found it near perfect), like this Boxster GTS model spotted testing on the Nurburgring. We can’t comment on mechanical changes or power hikes, but frankly the only visible change we saw in this set of spy shots was the front bumper – that’s a new design compared to any other 718 currently on sale.

If this is truly the GTS, then it will most likely feature a power hike of around 40 hp, stiffened up suspension, bigger brakes and additional unique body mods. If we look at previous GTS badged models, we see they also get a much louder and freer-flowing exhaust, so it’ll be interesting to see what Porsche manages to achieve with their new four-pot turbo.

No word on when it will be officially added to the Porsche range, but it will most likely debut at a motor show venue this year, possibly Frankfurt.
