Potential four-seat McLaren rendered in wake of recent rumors

This is not an official rendering from Woking, though

In a time when everyone has at least one SUV in their range or is working hard to launch one shortly, four-door sports cars are suddenly an acceptable appearance.

Take, for example, Porsche's four-door Panamera, a land-cruising ship that gambled everything on the sportiness card and won. Which begs the question: why shouldn't other carmakers want to partially explore that potential, with a 2+2 arrangement that still keeps that two-door setup.

A month-old report from AutoExpress quotes McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt, who claims that his company is evaluating the options regarding a four-seat McLaren which could be either a "Sports Series or Ultimate Series," but also a GT model.

At the same time, the Woking boss makes it clear that he "can see four seats, but not four doors," according to the same source.

Of course, such a model hangs on some many variables that we could only hypothetically bring it into discussion. But while you're preparing your arguments and opinions, have a look above at YasidDESIGN's sketch, which almost makes a case for a McLaren than can hold four adults, at least when judged from the aesthetic point of view.
