QX Sport Inspiration Concept Shows Design Direction for Infiniti

To us it looks quite close to production in this very form

Infiniti’s latest offerings have upped the style over predecessors and looking at the QX Sport Inspiration concept, it seems like a trend set to continue. It shows the general design direction for the brand, along with previewing a replacement for Infiniti’s current QX70.

In the automaker’s own words, “the QX Sport Inspiration concept explores a vision of how Infiniti could once again demonstrate this successful approach in the mid-sized SUV class.”

To us it looks quite close to production in this very form, as it wouldn’t be shocking to see it on an Infiniti showroom floor with conventional door handles, mirrors and slightly toned down detailing. Inside, though, it seems like it’s more of a concept, even if it does appear fully featured and functional.

The exterior is a mix of curving surfaces, sharp edges, creases, dips and intakes, all of which create a very unique effect. Not one single design feature dominates and it all adds up to one of the most aesthetically pleasing SUV/crossover shapes we’ve laid eyes on in recent memory.

For Infiniti President, Roland Krueger, the concept is “is a statement of intent from Infiniti, showcasing a daring design philosophy and a demonstration of our capabilities in the mid-size SUV segment.”
