All the goodies Peugeot can offer, in a comprehensive package

Peugeot brings a little hope in the European D-segment with its new 508, a sleek four-door sedan that should make you think twice before buying that SUV you think you need. Showcased at Geneva Motor Show 2018 is a First Edition model, encompassing all that Peugeot can offer on its mid-size sedan, and then some.

Using the range-topping GT trim, Peugeot threw some extra goodies in the 508 First Edition, like the 19-inch Grey Dust-coated Augusta alloys. It comes in two different colors (Ultimate Red, Dark Blue) and features black accents that highlight the car's "sharp muscular style."

The 508's cabin sports the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that can be seen over the compact (read: smaller than most people can be comfortable with) steering wheel. Naturally, the i-Cockpit infotainment HD screen comes here in its widest, 10-inch form, dominating the central dash. Sochaux's latest representative makes use of Alcantara, soft leather, and Zebrano-type wood inserts to clad the car's interior — which, we must reckon, doesn't look bad at all.

Tech-wise, the most notable feature is the Night Vision system the 508 brought for the first time in this segment, along with "an impressive number of driving aids," as Peugeot claims. On the infotainment bit, the i-Cockpit comes with connected 3D navigation with voice recognition, TomTom connected services, and a ten-speaker FOCAL Premium Hi-Fi system that comes with a pair of FOCAL wireless earphones.

No words on how many First Edition units are available for purchase, although Peugeot stated it's a limited series available in only 12 European countries. As expected, the price tag is high-end, just like the car's engine choice, and equipment level.
