Review argues the 2018 Audi A7 is the most high-tech coupé ever

Except it’s not a coupé

Well, we all know the new Audi A7 Sportback is not a genuine coupé but let's play this marketing game for the sake of it, since the four-dour coupé car deviation is now also present in other carmakers' lineups. Yes, I'm looking at the Mercedes-Benz CLS.

Leaving Stuttgart's affairs aside, it's time we focused on Ingolstadt's. Namely, the new 2018 Audi A7 officially unveiled last year in October with styling cues borrowed from both the Prologue prototype and A8 flagship.

But we're not here to discuss aesthetics, not since carwow took the new A7 for a spin in South Africa to see how the bucketload of technology offered by the A7 works for the driver and passengers.

Because on paper, the new Audi A7 boasts HD Matrix LED headlights, a strip made of 13 light clusters that acts as taillights, a 10.1-inch display (or the optional 12.3-inch infotainment system and Audi's virtual cockpit and a head-up display) and no fewer than 39 safety assistance systems.

Head to the video below to see how some of them work and what the new Audi A7 feels like on the road.
