Don’t expect to see a lot of metal, though
Scheduled to make its debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show, the facelifted Mercedes-Benz S-Class visited New York for a quick preview.
We'll leave aside the fact that we've seen spyshots that provide a better view of the updated S-Class and focus on the tech side.
For starters, the discretely-redesigned S-Class will gain four new engines, including a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline unit. The other powerplants are two 3.0-liter inline-six mills and the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 with 470 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) on tap.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz takes a few more steps towards automated driving with a broad suite of active safety features. New for the 2017 S-Class are the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Active Lane Change Assist.
