Skoda offers a glimpse into the Vision E’s interior

The cabin previews the interior design of Skoda’s upcoming EVs

Skoda carries on teasing its first full-electric concept vehicle ahead of its debut at Auto Shanghai 2017 (April 19-28) by releasing the first interior sketches.

Following the reveal of the exterior images last week, the Czech automaker now offers a first look at the Vision E's cabin. The interior matches the exterior's futuristic design, offering a preview of Skoda's new design language for electric vehicles.

Highlights include the suicide doors that allowed Skoda to remove the B-pillars, the four rotatable single seats, and the absence of the central tunnel. Those elements contribute to enhancing the sense of space, as does the sleek dashboard that lacks a center console.

The big touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard is the main interface, but the Vision E also features additional screens for passengers. Each passenger has their own screen that can be used to select infotainment functions.

The seats have a slightly elevated position for a good view and can be rotated by 20 degrees. When the doors are opened, the seats swing outwards to make ingress and egress easier. As soon as the doors are electrically closed, the seats return to their standard position.

Inside each door, the Vision E features an integrated phone box that allows the inductive charging of smartphones — which can be obviously paired with the each passenger's display. The concept vehicle also features ambient lighting with ten colors.
