Slightly revised mug also on the menu
Also known as the Ford Mondeo on the other side of the pond, the US-sold 2019 Ford Fusion earns a welcome facelift that tweaks both its technology credentials and hybrid offerings, while offering a subtle nip and tuck in the design department.
The highlight of this revamp is Ford’s Co-Pilot360 safety pack. Ford further splits it in two, namely Co-Pilot360 Protect and Co-Pilot360 Assist.
You’ll find the former as a standard feature on the entire Fusion range, from the entry-level Fusion S to the Energi Titanium. What it includes? The likes of automatic emergency braking (pedestrian detection included), blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, rear back-up camera and auto high beam.
[NativeAd]Co-Pilot360 Assist builds on the Co-Pilot360 Protect and plusses with voice-activated navigation, SYNC 3 (8-inch display) available for Fusion SE trims and above, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, Sirius XM Traffic and Travel Link – these two are standard on the Fusion Hybrid SEL, Fusion Titanium and Fusion V6 Sport.
Since we mentioned the Fusion Hybrid, it helps knowing that the new Fusion Energi has a pure-electric range of 25 miles (a 20 percent bump over the current model, says Ford) thanks to a newly designed 9 kWh Li-ion battery pack cooled with air.
The 2019 Ford Fusion range is now split into six trim levels, as it follows: Fusion S, Fusion SE/Fusion Hybrid SE (1.5-liter EcoBoost for the SE, 2-liter Atkinson-cycle married to a CVT for the Hybrid SE), Fusion SEL/Fusion Hybrid SEL, Fusion Titanium/Fusion Hybrid Titanium, Fusion Energi Titanium and Fusion V6 Sport (standard all-wheel drive, 325 hp, 380 lb-ft of twist).
