The Tesla Model 3 topic is getting hot

Priced at $35,000, Tesla's affordable EV going by the name of Model 3 will offer a maximum range of 215 miles (346 km) and a sprint time from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) of 5.6 seconds.

For the sake of comparison, Chevrolet's Bolt EV (Opel Ampera-e in Europe) boasts a 238-mile range and needs less than seven seconds to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill.

The specs were leaked by Tesla aficionados on the Model 3 Owners Club forum in the form of infographics and picked up by Inside EVs.

Besides range and acceleration time, they also reveal that the upcoming Model 3 offers 14 cu-ft (396.4 liters) of cargo space and stretches at 184.8 inches (4.69 m) in length.

These numbers are shown in parallel to similar specs of the Model S, a side-by-side comparison which has been described as "talking points" by forum members.
