Tesla Model Y teaser shot imagined as actual production car

A lot of work went into converting the single dark shot into a believable rendering

Tesla released a teaser for its upcoming smaller crossover, called Model Y, but the image was heavily darkened and didn’t really reveal much. However, with a lot of work from Jan Peisert of Peisert Design, it was brought to life as an interpretation of what a production car shaped like that and with Tesla design cues would look like.

He used the basic outline provided in the teaser to which he added Model X and Model 3 elements which he fettled into place.

The result is definitely believable and we say pretty accurately depicts what Model Y could look like. We are somewhat reserved, though, as Jan took a few liberties when conceiving it and by adding elements from existing Teslas – we don’t know if there are plans to change the family face even more in the next two years.

Model Y is expected to arrive in 2019 – 2020 to complete a four model lineup whose model denominations are going to spell the word “S3XY” – now it's just "S3X."
