This Alfa Romeo 4C is a hill climb V8 monster

Beauty turned beast

Sure, the words Alfa Romeo 4C and V8 shouldn’t normally be in the same sentence, but hey, this is a car that’s been tuned with hill climb glory in mind.

So out with the 1.75-liter straight-four engine, in with a Formula 3000 3.0-liter V8 churning out 450 hp. With the power box ticked, the reborn 4C had to go through a weight loss regimen.

Not that it was too fat in factory spec – a bone-stock Alfa Romeo 4C tips the scales at 895 kg – but this one saw a drop in body mass to 700 kg.

Add an airstrip-size rear wing and a plow-like rear diffuser, 18-inch wheels and an air-cutting, sans-headlights body kit and there you have it: a race-ready tool that’s not just quick and light, but also a head turner than can play a pretty engaging tune as it roars up the snaky road.
