A wheelie bar would be a good next investment
What started as a 1971 Chevrolet Nova SS turned into a monstrous turbocharged drag car, powerful enough to lift its nose at the push of the gas pedal.
Unfortunately, we don’t have as much info on the car as we’d like to but it suffices to say the 350 cu-in (5.7-liter) V8 was replaced by an LS which was furthermore enhanced with a Billet S45 turbocharger kit.
But the videos from this year’s Street Car Takeover Indianapolis speaks for itself: skip to 1:52 mark and you’ll see this mighty Nova doing a wheelie launch. Despite the awfully late start, and the one-wheel drag start, the Nova not only reduces the gap with its Mustang opponent but also wins the race.
Want to see more of that? Here's a 4,000-hp (!!!) Corvette dragster lose the fight with the downforce. Or a 700 hp drag race car called Kitchen.
