This Ferrari-powered Ford hot rod messes with our brains

It’s as cool as it is useless

You hear Ferrari and you picture something pure, a high-pitched, polished machine that delivers thrills as it goes up the red line. One that can also corner.

A hot rod, on the other hand, is quite the opposite. A burbling, big-block-powered revival of an old car, meant for showing off and some eventual straight line shotgun launches. The exceptions are scarce.

So how should we perceive this Maranello-red, Ferrari-powered 1932 Ford hot rod? It’s definitely a looker, with its perfect paint, 18-inch wheels covered in slick rubber and hiding (if we can say so) 15-inch brakes.

It features a roll cage, five-point harnesses, KW shocks, and a rear-axle independent suspension. But the one thing that defines its sports car character best is the Ferrari 3.0-liter V8 engine, developing 950 horsepower thanks to the Turbonetics twin-turbocharger setup.

At the same time, it also has a terrifyingly short wheelbase, and a disturbingly high ground clearance, resulting in a behavior similar to Mafia I’s Crazy Horse hot rod: impossible to handle.

But, if you’re looking for a show off exhibit, here’s the good news: it's up for grabs, listed on JamesEdition for $250,000. Now, if you have that money to spare, what would we find in your garage?
