This HEMI V8 sound is music to our ears

Why didn’t anyone come up with a 10-hour long version of this?

In terms of track performance, the muscle car is continuously closing the gap with European sports cars. But when it comes to engine sounds, America’s V8 growl has its own league.

Celebrating HEMI Day, Dodge released a (way too) short clip with some of the most soothing V8s of them all: the 426, also called “elephant engine.”

With a 7.0-liter displacement, the 426 (cubic inches) engine made a 425 hp (431 PS), 472 lb-ft (640 Nm) gross power output. As it turned out, the dyno testing showed even better figures: 433.5 hp (439.5 PS). However, Chrysler didn’t want to brag about it, so it kept the initial figures for the brochures.

If there’s only one thing we lack on YouTube right now, is a 10-hour clip of this sound.
