Uphill ski slope race rates compact crossovers

They are the most popular models sold in Europe

German is considered hard to learn, but you don’t have to know it to enjoy this video comparison of compact crossovers being hooned up a mountain – just focus on the cars, the action and the times each vehicle posts.

The video by Garage Galliker Carplanet pits the Mazda CX-5, Renault Koleos, Nissan Qashqai, Opel Mokka X, Jeep Compass and Dacia Duster against one another in a snowy time trial held on a ski slope in Sörenberg, in the Swiss Alps.

We won’t spoil the end result for you, but suffice it to say it’s not the most expensive or most powerful of the vehicles lined up that takes the snowy uphill time trial crown. In fact, the overall winner is a bit of a surprise if you’ve never driven one, while if you have you may understand why it came out on top. Do note that the crossovers were running on their standard tires which differed from vehicle to vehicle – this is therefore not a completely accurate test.
