For those who want a more dynamic look inside and out

VW has announced the introduction of the R-Line package on the 2018 Tiguan.
Unveiled at the LA Auto Show, the new trim package gives the Tiguan a more dynamic appearance thanks to the addition of design elements both on the exterior and interior.

Available for Tiguan SEL and SEL Premium trims, the R-Line package includes 19-inch Trenton aluminum-alloy wheels (SEL) or 20-inch Braselton aluminum-alloy rims (SEL Premium).
Other exterior upgrades include more aggressive bumpers with a gloss black lower grille at the front and gloss black diffuser at the rear, as well as body-color wheel arch extensions and side skirts. You can also recognize the car thanks to the R-Line badges on the grille and front fenders.

Inside, the Tiguan R-Line package includes a black headliner, stainless-steel sport pedal covers, and stainless-steel door sills with the R-Line logo. The same logo is featured on the steering wheel and the start screen of the Modular Infotainment Platform (MIB II).
Unfortunately, there's no added firepower for the Tiguan R-Line, with the 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine delivering the same power and torque figures as regular models: 184 hp and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. As with lesser 2018 Tiguan models, the engine is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 4Motion all-wheel-drive system is available as an option.

Upgrading to the R-Line package costs $1,795 for SEL and $1,495 for the SEL Premium models. In both cases, the Park Distance Control system is included. VW will start selling the R-Line package in the first quarter of 2018.
