VW Multivan PanAmericana Given Green Light for Production

It will debut at the 2016 IAA Commercial Vehicle show in Hannover

Following its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in concept form, the VW Multivan PanAmericana has finally morphed into a production model.

Combining the comfort of the Multivan with the off-road capability of an SUV, the PanAmericana will act as the range-topping model of the Multivan family. With a 20 mm higher ground clearance than the regular Multivan and available 4Motion all-wheel drive, the PanAmericana boasts increased off-road capabilities.

The PanAmericana stands out from lesser Multivan models thanks to its more rugged appearance: it features bumpers painted in a textured effect, skid plates both front and rear, side sill attachments, dedicated 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as plastic cladding along the lower sides of the vehicle.

In addition to these tweaks, the rugged Multivan sports tinted rear windows, smoked LED taillights, a Highline radiator grille and PanAmericana logo on the B-pillars.

The cabin consists of hard-wearing yet high-quality materials, seats with Alcantara pads and black and white inserts, a multifunctional leather steering wheel, leather gear knob, Climatronic, entry lights with PanAmericana lettering and stainless-steel pedals. A bi-color leather trim is available as an option.

The new Multivan PanAmericana is available with any of the gasoline or diesel engines offered on the Multivan family, with outputs ranging from 114 PS (113 hp) to 204 PS (201 hp). Prices in Germany start from €47,552.40 for front-wheel drive models and €54,983.95 for all-wheel drive versions.
