Guess what? It’s super fast
It's amazing what a car can turn into with a little help from a gimmick called launch control.
Nowadays, almost all respectable performance models come with launch control. Heck, you can even have it on some hunchback SUVs. What it does, in brief, is optimize engine response and gearshifts so the car can blast from a standstill as swift as possible, without the inefficient tire spin and engine over-revving.
Such a gizmo equips the Ferrari 812Superfast, Maranello's fastest and most powerful bambino to date: figures like 800 hp at 8,500 rpm and 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm speak for themselves.
But in the right (electronic) hands, the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 shows its true colors in a straight line, where it moves the 812Superfast's 1,630 kilos like they're a bucket of feathers.
