Don’t expect fireworks, though
Right. The year is 2018 and you can now have almost 200 horses inside your Fiesta, topped by launch control
Unveiled one year ago, the new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST makes use of not only a launch control feature, but a mechanical limited-slip diff and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 232 km/h (144 mph).
But it also has what we call a Launch Control feature that harnesses the three-cylinder 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine’s resources in the most efficient manner, you know, for quick burst off the line. Speaking of resources, inside the Fiesta ST, the said mill makes 197 hp and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) and its response can be altered using three driving modes – Normal, Sport, and Track.
Now, back to the launch control bit, which in all fairness, is not what you’d expect on a supermini gone hot hatch. You know what else it is not? Something to write home about, as you’ll see in Carfection’s video below.
