What Women Like, World Car of the Year Stage: F-Pace, the Champion

2016 Women’s World Car of the Year found its winners

The luxury British SUV Jaguar F-Pace is WWCOTY jury’s favorite this year, claiming the “Supreme winner” title from a total of 294 nominees.

On the official WWCOTY (Women's World Car of the Year) site, we can’t find what the criteria for choosing a Supreme winner are, but we’re told by the WWCOTY Managing Director Sandy Myhre that winning a category is not easy.

“From the early lists the judges sent in, there were some strong contenders in one or two categories, but mostly only a few percentage points separate the top three cars in each segment,” Myhre explains. “Honda must be congratulated for winning two categories – the Family Car Award for the Honda Civic and the Budget Car Award for the Honda Jazz.”

Besides the Supreme winner, there are six different categories: Family Car, Performance Car, Budget Car, Luxury Car, Green Car, and SUV (you can read our F-Pace test drive here).

The elegant Volvo S90 saloon won the Women’s Luxury Car of the Year Award, while in the Performance Car category, the Mustang won a hard fight against its hatchback-bodied sibling Focus RS, winning by one single point.

Conversely, the Green Car Award had been won by the Toyota Prius “with the biggest margin.”

The Women’s World Car of the Year jury consists of 17 judges from 14 countries.
