Would you buy a car without airbags after this video?

A graphic reminder of the safety systems’ importance

It’s 2017; we live in an era where cars can almost drive themselves, yet there are examples where the basic safety precaution — such as a driver’s airbag — is lacking.

This video from New Zealand’s Automobile Association is set to remind us the vital assistance an airbag can give us in the case of a crash.

Nothing can guarantee you anything, of course; the Japanese airbags manufacturer Takata filed for bankruptcy after its faulty airbag deployment had lead to the biggest safety recall in automotive industry — targeting as much as 100 million vehicles.

Still, wearing your seatbelt and having an airbag prepared to jump in your face during and impact will considerably increase your chances of surviving it.

This might sound redundant, but please don’t neglect the safety equipment when looking for a new car.
