You can now buy Jay Kay’s purple Lambo Diablo from the ‘Cosmic girl’ Jamiroquai music video

It’s the Diablo he had to drive without a windscreen in the video…

Jamiroquai’s ‘Cosmic girl’ was an international hit back in 1996, and part of that success was undeniably courtesy of the fast-paced music video it received. In the video, band front runner Jay Kay drives a bright purple Lamborghini Diablo which is now for sale on AutoTrader.

Two cars were actually used during the shoot, as the first was totaled while filming – this is the second one. Even this car had its own bit of misfortune when camera gear fell on its windscreen and Jay Kay was forced to drive the car with no front glass – you can see that in the actual video, his hair gets blown around quite a lot; now you know why.

This particular Lambo is one of 16 right-hand drive models of this series built, it’s done 17,266 miles / 27,804 km and the color’s official name is ‘Viola Metallic’. Special features include optional sports seats that feature a carbon fiber back and oodles of suede trim inside.

The car is in mint condition, has a complete service history and with a celeb former owner its asking price of £549,995 is not hard to explain. It’s about twice as expensive as other spotless Diablos available on the same auto trading site, and it’s kind of hard to justify the difference unless you’re a serious Jamiroquai fan.
