Reviews are in for the new Ferrari Portofino, California T’s replacement

Is an entry-level Ferrari still a Ferrari?

Coming to replace the California T, Ferrari's Portofino does everything better than its predecessor: it packs a heftier punch, drinks less fuel and advertises better road handling. Or does it?

Auto Express set out to Italy to discover just how good the new Ferrari Portofino really is, especially since it sits on a new, lighter architecture and has better aerodynamic credentials.

However, what's left relatively the same compared to the California T is the engine bay which hosts the same 3.9-liter turbo'ed V8, which was upgraded and fitted with new parts, thus allowing it to churn out 591 bhp (40 bhp over the Ferrari California T).

On paper, the Ferrari Portofino takes just 3.5 seconds to arrive to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and can carry on the sprint to over 320 km/h (200 mph). But it's not all milk and honey, as you're about to discover in the video below.

On a more contrasting note, here's the Ferrari 812 Superfast leaving its reviewer speechless.*
