Audi R8 Coupé Audi Sport Edition proudly wears brand’s motorsport colors

No power upgrade, despite the “Sport” moniker

To mark the official launch of its performance sub-brand in the United States, Audi has unveiled a limited edition R8 Coupé that will have a production run of just 200 units worldwide.

Called the Audi R8 Coupé Audi Sport Edition, the supercar features the performance brand's silver, red, and black colors as well as exclusive interior equipment.

Unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the R8 Coupé Audi Sport Edition is available in three main exterior colors, just like the R8 LMS GT4: Floret Silver (matt or gloss), Mythos Black, and Ibis White. Regardless of the chosen body color, the side blades and exterior mirrors are in brilliant red, while the front spoiler, Singleframe grille, and diffuser insert are in titanium black.

At the rear, the trapezoidal tailpipe trims are in gloss black, with other distinctive elements including forged-aluminum 20-inch wheels in gloss anthracite black paint finish with silver edges. The brake calipers have a high-gloss red finish on the R8 V10 and anthracite-colored finish on the R8 V10 plus.

Inside, passengers are welcome with illuminated aluminum door sill trims bearing the "1/200" inscription and Audi Sport lettering. The cabin's red and black color combination suits the exterior, with materials used including Nappa leather for the door panels and sports seats, as well as gloss carbon and polished aluminum trim.

Each R8 Coupé Audi Sport Edition features a flat-bottomed, leather-covered performance steering wheel in three-spoke design and with a red stripe at the 12 o'clock position.

Orders for limited edition R8 can be placed from May, with the 533 hp (540 PS) V10 variant starting at €181,900 and the 602 hp (610 PS) V10 plus priced from €205,800. Deliveries will begin in late summer this year.
