Wider and bulkier on the outside, equipped with a new turbocharged petrol engine and a dashboard inspired by the new Astra. That's how the Vauxhall Mokka X introduces itself at the crossover party.
The 1.4-liter 152-horsepower unit mentioned in the headline and borrowed from the Astra works with a six-speed automatic transmission, in tandem with adaptive all-wheel drive and a Start/Stop system, for a claimed fuel consumption figure of 47.1 mpg (roughly 6 l/100 km) and 140 g/km of CO2.
In this configuration, the Vauxhall Mokka X wears a starting sticker of £23,310 OTR (on the road).
If petrol engines are not your thing, you can head to the diesel department where Vauxhall/Opel is offering the 1.6-liter "Whisper Diesel" unit introduced last year and said to be capable of returning 72.4 mpg (around 4 l/100 km) and just 103 grams of CO2.
We reckon the best choice here would be the 136-horsepower variant with 320 Nm of torque on tap, which starts at £21,865 OTR.
Tech-wise, the Mokka X takes a lot after its Astra peer, in the sense that the crossover earns new adaptive LED headlights, R 40 IntelliLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a seven-inch touchscreen that handles the human-machine interaction.
