2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport: Official Specs and Pictures

The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, known as the ASX in Europe, got a mild refresh for the 2016 model year

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport debuted at this year's LA Auto Show with some minor styling tweaks and new equipment for the interior.

Essentially a facelift for the outgoing model, the 2016 Outlander Sport (known as the ASX in Europe) comes with a redesigned front bumper and grille that integrate Mitsubishi's “Dynamic Shield” styling language, a fresh set of 18-inch wheels, power folding side mirrors with LED turn indicators and new wheel arch moldings.

Inside, the crossover gets a new steering wheel, a 6.1-inch display, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink buttons built in. Also, you can now choose from some new interior upholstery options.

The engines list remains untouched, with a 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline unit developing 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, and a 2.4-liter with 168 hp and 167 lb-ft available. You get a five-speed manual transmission if you go for the base engine and trim, while all other combinations include a CVT.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is priced the same as the outgoing model, with a starting MSRP of $19,595.
