2017 Ram 1500 Copper Sport Debuts in Chicago with Striking New Color

It will be built in a limited run of 3,000 units

Automakers don't need too many reasons to release limited edition models.

Just look at Ram, which has announced a new 1500 model called Copper Sport whose main addition is the Copper Pearl body color. Debuting at the Chicago Auto Show, the new hue joins Ignition Orange as the second limited-edition offering of distinctive colors on Ram's half-ton Sport trim.

Besides the striking color, the 2017 Ram 1500 Copper Sport stands out thanks to the body-color grille, Sport performance hood with black decals, black Ram head grille badge, black tailgate badge, and black side badges. The exterior package also includes 22-inch polished aluminum wheels (available on two-wheel drive models).

Inside, the limited-edition model adds Copper-colored accent stitching throughout the cabin, deluxe bucket seats with Sport embroidery, color-accent Ram's head embroidery on the headrests, and sport mesh on the seat inserts.

The interior treatment is rounded off by an all-black headliner and pillars, as well as anodized Copper-painted spears and trim rings. In addition, the Ram 1500 Copper Sport adds an Alpine premium sound system with nine speakers, including a subwoofer.

Ram will only build 3,000 units of the 1500 Copper Sport, which will only be offered as a Crew Cab with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. Prices start from $45,630 (excluding $1,320 destination), with the first trucks scheduled to arrive in dealerships later this month.
