Up-in-the-air videos providing a drone's view from above the Tesla Gigafactory plant in Nevada are not a novelty, but the latest clip shows a highly-animated construction site.

The vast area occupied by the Gigafactory is swiftly expanding, and we can already see how both the permanent and temporary parking lots ar partially filled with cars.

Furthermore, Electrek suggests this is due to Tesla, Panasonic, and other contractors are geared up for Powerpack 2 and Powerwall 2, while the steel skeleton of the plant and some roof sections are already in place.

Once completed, the Gigafactory will stretch its operating quarters on around 4.5 million square feet and generate 6,500 new jobs.

Initial estimates mentioned a battery cell output of 35 GWh/year, but recent projections suggest that's achievable as soon as 2018.

Coincidence or not, that's the same timeframe when production for the Model 3 is expected to kick off.
