Bugatti Will Have You Waiting Over Three Years for a Chiron

220 units are already sold; 280 more to go

In an exclusive interview for GT Spirit, Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer stated that the Chiron has 220 confirmed orders.

Given the €2.4m price tag, 220 (out of 500) is an impressive figure, especially if you think that most of these orders have been made without even touching the car. Even more impressive is the fact that the first 180 orders were made in the first month after the Geneva debut.

As Mr. Dürheimer let us know, client test drives are starting March 2017 so he’s confident that “the customers who have not yet decided to order a Chiron will do so when they have had the chance to drive it.”

There’s only one problem. If you’re new to the brand, you might have to wait at least three years for your Bugatti Chiron megacar to be delivered, albeit the production capacity has been increased to 65 cars per year.

The French manufacturer’s customer loyalty program prioritizes the existing owners – the ones who own multiple vehicles in particular.

So far, only one Chiron has been delivered – along with the Vision GT Concept – to a Saudi Prince, with several other clients expecting their exquisite Bugatti model at the beginning of the next year.

As for the Vision Gran Turismo Concept, the rumors about a limited run were refuted by Mr. Dürheimer: “The full focus is on building and delivering the Chirons for customers who have placed an order so far.”
