The new premium estate will be unveiled by world’s number one tennis player, Andy Murray
There's less than a month left until Andy Murray will lift the veils off the second-generation Jaguar XF Sportbrake on June 14.
To keep people interested in the new car, Jaguar has come up with a tennis-related story in which the XF Sportbrake plays a part. A prototype wearing a tennis-ball camouflage has been driven from Coventry to the world's most remote tennis court — the Bunabhainneadar Tennis Court on the Scottish island of North Harris, to be exact.
The reason for that was to take a selfie that would convince Andy Murray that the secluded tennis court exists. That's why Jaguar teamed up with former tennis ace Tim Henman and Scottish tennis fan Susan MacCormick and took a trip to the remote location.
As you can see from the photos, there are no surprises regarding the shape of the XF Sportbrake, which Jaguar claims will be "the most dynamic premium estate car in the world." After all, the XF Sportbrake has been extensively honed on the Nürburgring.
Bold claim aside, the estate body style of the XF will benefit from the same extensive aluminum construction as the XF sedan, helping shed significant weight compared to its predecessor.
The XF Sportbrake is expected to use the same range of gasoline and diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 163 hp to 380 hp. Jaguar has already confirmed that the estate model will also be available in the United States.
The 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will arrive in dealerships in the second half of the year and will compete against models like the BMW 5 Series Touring, Volvo V90, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate, and the like.
