Newly-Founded Lotus Exclusive Is The Brand’s Entry Into The Bespoke Business

Lotus is the latest company to enter the tailor-made business

The new personalization service Lotus Exclusive targets owners who want to tailor cars to their personal tastes. Developed by the Lotus Design team, the program will include everything from color coding through the race preparation.

Both existing owners and new customers can use the Lotus Exclusive program. The ordering process takes place at their local Lotus dealership, where they will see examples of the things they can order.

After the customer chooses his preferred requirements, they are reviewed by the Lotus dealer and developed together with the Lotus Exclusive team at Lotus headquarters.

The key areas where Lotus Exclusive can provide customization and personalization are body colors and body decals. The program offers a range of heritage and race-themed body colors including Essex Blue, used first on the Essex Commemorative Lotus Esprit Turbo of 1980 and Lotus F1 cars in 1980 and 1981, and Motorsport Black, which debuted on the limited edition Lotus Sport Exige 240R.

Each color comes with a matching service that can give the paint a matte, gloss, metallicor pearlescent finish.

Lotus Exclusive also offers customers the possibility to highlight key components, such as door mirrors, sills, wings or spoilers with bodywork decals that come in white, yellow, red or black. There's also the option of Race Stripes, which are available in the same four colors and three styles: twin, single or asymmetric. Furthermore, the roof panel and mirror caps can be covered with larger graphics such as national flags like the Union Jack.

Lotus Exclusive features will be available on all Lotus cars including the new 3-Eleven, which will also get a full range of performance options. The service will first launch in Europe, but will arrive in other regions later in 2016.
