Review finds 2017 Buick LaCrosse boring, but in a good way

The Buick LaCrosse is part of an endangered species: the big, American sedan

SUVs and crossovers are increasingly undermining sedan sales across the United States (and the world), which is why the latest LaCrosse has a difficult mission ahead.

All-new for the 2017 model year, the Buick LaCrosse is a distinctively middle-of-the-road offering, in the sense that it's neither mainstream nor luxury, neither fast nor slow, neither expensive nor cheap.

As a result, you may be tempted to label the LaCrosse as a boring car, and you would be right. However, as Kelley Blue Book's reviewer points out, the LaCrosse is boring in a good way: it's a reassuring car, good at doing everything that it's supposed to.

Plus, it looks better than its predecessor without being flashy, which is what many buyers want. The LaCrosse is competing for customers with the Toyota Avalon, Kia Cadenza, Acura RLX, and Lexus ES, to name only a few of its rivals.
