It will be the first commercial Tesla vehicle, followed by a pickup truck in two years’ time
Tesla boss Elon Musk announced via a tweet that the company is at an advanced stage developing a fully-electric semi truck which it plans to reveal this September. Musk’s exact words were “Tesla Semi truck unveil set for September. Team has done an amazing job. Seriously next level.”
Previously, he also said the EV truck would bring a considerable cost reduction compared to the regular diesel-powered trucks. That’s literally all we heard and know about it; we have no idea what it’s going to look like or what its specs are.
According to a different tweet posted the same day, Musk also confirmed that the Tesla pickup truck would also see the light of day, and that we should expect to lay eyes on it for the first time in 18 to 24 months.
