All-New 2017 Mazda CX-5 SUV to Debut at LA Auto Show

It appears to take design cues from both the CX-3 and CX-9

Launched in 2012 as a 2013 model, the first-generation Mazda CX-5 will be replaced by an all-new model at the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 18-27).

The second-generation of Mazda's compact crossover SUV is said to take the KODO-Soul of Motion design language to a new level, sporting "a powerful combination of sophistication and strength." Mazda also says it has "further refined every element of its design and technology to offer new dimensions of driving pleasure."

The automaker hasn't disclosed anything more about the all-new 2017 CX-5 but has released a dark teaser photo that gives us some clues about the upcoming crossover.

The 2017 CX-5 looks like a cross between the CX-3 and CX-9 SUVs, sporting thin headlights and taillights, bulged wheel arches, and an interesting dynamic treatment of the C-pillar. Judging from this photo, it should make for a cool-looking SUV.

Stay tuned for more details about the 2017 CX-5 in the coming days and weeks before its world debut in Los Angeles, where Mazda will also bring a prototype race car as a world premiere.
