Time for the Range Rover to face some tough competition
The Range Rover has been alone in the luxury SUV segment for a long time. Not anymore, though.
In recent years, competitors have begun to appear from everywhere, even from noble brands like Bentley and Maserati. And more are still to come, with Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce announcing they will launch SUVs in the near future.
Land Rover has been preparing for these launches by making the Range Rover even more luxurious, and the current SVAutobiography range-topping model looks ready to stand up to the luxury monument on wheels that is the Bentley Bentayga.
To find out if that is the case, Autocar set up a comparison review with the two British luxobarges and came up with some interesting conclusions. For example, they reckon the Bentayga is more luxurious and better built inside than the Range Rover SVAutobiography.
Another area where the Bentayga apparently has the upper hand is handling, with the slightly shorter and lower Bentley going through corners with greater ease than the big Range Rover.
