Hurry Up With That Jeep Wrangler Pickup Order Because AEV Will Soon Stop Making It

The extreme off-road pickup born from a Wrangler Unlimited is spectacular and expensive

Everyone is fantasizing about a Wrangler pickup, but until Jeep comes up with one as part of the next-generation model, it's good to know a company already builds a JK-based truck.

We're talking about American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) and the Wrangler-based Brute Double Cab. If you like what you see, you should know the company will soon stop production, which is why it will only accept orders until March 31.

So if you want to show off in a Wrangler pickup before Jeep launches its official production model, this is one of the last chances to buy one. Just make sure that you have enough money in the bank because the conversion starts at $41,665 — not including the base Wrangler Unlimited.

If the standard 285 hp 3.6-liter V6 engine lacks the muscle you need, AEV can replace it with a 5.7- or a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 — but that comes at an extra cost.

Besides the composite bed and 39-in (990-mm) longer frame, AEV fits the Brute with 35-inch tires, a Warn winch, suspension lift, skid plates, and off-road lights, among many other standard features.
