The goal is to make the Mercedes roadsters stand out among their brethren
Mercedes-Benz has released two new special editions for its roadsters: the SLC RedArt and SL designo. While the former underlines the model's sportiness, the latter is about exclusivity and interior design.
Available for all engine options in the SLC lineup (SLC 180, SLC 200, SLC 200 d, SLC 300, SLC 43), the RedArt treatment brings an exclusive designo iridium silver magno matt finish for the bodywork (along six other paintworks), red accents, and dedicated alloy wheels.
Inside, customers get an exclusive upholstery in black leather with silver pearl nappa leather inserts and red contrasting topstitching, Edition logo embroidered on the head restraint, aluminum trim with dark carbon grain, a sports steering wheel, as well as exclusive floor mats with the Edition logo.
Standard features include heated seats, AIRSCARF neck-level heating for driver and front passenger, plus larger, perforated brake discs and red brake calipers. AMG Line models also get different aprons and a sports suspension.
Moving on to the Mercedes-Benz SL designo Edition, it is available as an SL 400 and SL 500 model and offers striking styling features such as a brilliant blue paintwork with a metallic finish, 19-inch AMG 10-spoke forged wheels, smoked headlights, and designo Edition logo.
The interior is rich in high-quality materials such the porcelain/black designo nappa leather on the seats and door center panels, porcelain designo DINAMICA on the roof liner, and white designo seat belts. The list of standard features is exhaustive and includes a 3-spoke two-tone multifunction sports steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, AIRSCARF neck-level heating for driver and front passenger, and Active Multicontour Seat Package (with massage), among other things.
Among the many standard safety assist systems the SL designo Edition offers the Driving Assistance Package Plus with Distance Pilot, DISTRONIC with Steering Pilot, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and PRE-SAFE PLUS.
