Take a closer look at the all-electric Jaguar E-Type

It mixes the old car’s design with battery power and a completely modern interior

Some may have said that ripping out the throbbing straight-six from under the bonnet of the Jaguar E-Type only to replace it with electric gubbins was akin to blasphemy, yet there’s something strangely attractive about the idea. I mean the car looks the same for the most part, but offers a radically different experience to the petrol burning one.

There’s nothing to dislike about the prospect of owning something that retains all of the automotive design beauty of the year 1968, yet wooshes along with no sound, there are no gears to shift and the entire experience sounds like it’s incredibly relaxed.

And it’s no slouch, either: 0 – 100 km/h is dispatched in 5.5 seconds and with the 40 kWh battery pack it should have enough range for your weekend drive needs.

Nobody has driven it on camera yet, but you can see Jonny Smith doing a static look video for the Fully Charged show.
